District Student Council


Our Mission

The District Student Council acts as an alliance to: unite the three colleges; provide district-wide student leadership; render service; provide the public with a better understanding of district issues; and maintain friendly relations with others.

 

 

2026-2027 Application for Student Trustee

The 2026–2027 Student Trustee application is now open. This position offers a unique opportunity to represent students at the district level. Please review the details below to learn more about eligibility, responsibilities, and how to apply.

Applications Open: Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM

Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM

About the Student Trustee Position:

Term of Office: June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027

Basic Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates applying for the position of Student Trustee must be enrolled in the District and complete at least five units per semester during both the fall and spring semesters of their term of office.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 prior to appointment and throughout the term of office.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must not have been on academic probation or under disciplinary sanction at a District college during the academic year prior to the term being sought or at any time during the term of office as Student Trustee.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend all Board of Trustee meetings to provide student perspective for the entire Coast District. Board meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month, with the open session beginning at 5:00 PM.
  • Chair the District Student Council
  • Have a key role in organizing Student Advocacy Day
