ABOUT GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE

Located in the coastal community of Huntington Beach, also known as “Surf City,” Golden West College (GWC) serves approximately 11,000 students and is highly regarded for academic quality, comprehensive student support and innovation. Founded in 1966 as part of the multi-college Coast Community College District, GWC provides enriching, innovative and inclusive programming that helps students transfer to four-year institutions, earn associate degrees, complete certificates in career and technical education, and advance their careers.

ACCREDITATION

February 25-28, 2019, ACCJC External Evaluation Team visited GWC to complete its evaluation to determine whether the College continues to meet ACCJC’s Eligibility Requirements, Commission Policies, and Accreditation Standards. The Institutional Self Evaluation Report (ISER) and evidence lists were completed in preparation for the visit.

June 28, 2019, ACCJC awarded Golden West College a Reaffirmation of Accreditation for a seven-year period.

June 7-8, 2023, ACCJC accepted Golden West College’s Midterm Report [PDF]. The College's next comprehensive review will occur in the spring term of 2026.
