Founded in 1947 with the establishment of Orange Coast College, the broader Coast Community College District (CCCD) was created to serve the communities of Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, and Westminster. The Foundation was established with the express purpose of securing and stewarding financial resources to support student success, faculty funding opportunities, and campus programs across the District. Today, the Foundation manages a variety of philanthropic funds, including faculty mini-grants, specialized program support, scholarships, and targeted community events.
The Coast Community College District Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The Coast Community District Foundation drives student success by boldly investing in innovation, empowering faculty and staff development, and uniting our colleges around a shared commitment to transformative education.
The vision of the Coast Community College District Foundation is to advance equitable access to higher education by strengthening the students, faculty, staff, and programs of the Coast Community College District through philanthropy, advocacy, and strategic partnerships. The Foundation exists to remove barriers to student success and expand opportunities for underserved and historically marginalized communities by investing in scholarships, basic needs support, workforce readiness, technology access, and innovative educational initiatives.
Guided by a commitment to equity, inclusion, and student achievement, the Foundation supports programs and resources that empower the “whole student” while enhancing the District’s ability to foster culturally responsive learning environments and community impact. Through philanthropic gifts and corporate partnerships, the Foundation serves as a catalyst for transformative change, creating pathways for academic success, economic mobility, and stronger communities throughout the region.

"I strongly believe in the transformative power of the community college system and in supporting Chancellor Yamamura's vision of reducing and ultimately eliminating the opportunity gap, so all students have the resources to succeed. I also recognize the importance of Career Technical Education (CTE) and the skilled trades in preparing student's for today's workforce demands and strengthening our communities."
