John Eriksen joined CCCD In 2005 after spending 16 years in the Purchasing Department for Long Beach Unified School District in the role of Manger of Purchasing Services. With over 35 years of experience in Public Procurement, John utilizes his expertise to ensure the efficient and ethical operation of all Purchasing related functions occurring District-wide. This includes the development of strategic relationships with vendors, sourcing management of supplies and services, preparation and oversight of all competitive bids, and ensuring that all purchases adhere to all applicable legal codes and District Board policies.

Some of John's most notable accomplishments are assisting the District with implementing Banner BDMS and PlanetBids. Banner BDMS is a document management system that has helped improve information sharing amongst District staff and reduce overall paper usage. PlanetBids is a web-based competitive bid platform that has allowed the District to hold online bid solicitation and bid openings. The integration of these programs has saved valuable man hours which are now used to provide greater support to Purchasing's internal customers.
